Here is a recommended walking course along the Yeongilman (Yeongildae) coastline, designed to let you enjoy the scenic ocean views, cultural landmarks, and beautiful nightscapes.

### **Yeongilman Coastal Walking Course (Approx. 2.5 km / 40–50 Mins)**

**Course Route:**

Yeongildae Beach (Starting Point) → Yeongilgyo Bridge → Yeongildae Pavilion → Yeongildae Rose Garden → POSCO Nightview Lookout (End Point)

#### **1. Starting Point: Yeongildae Beach (영일대해수욕장)**

Begin your walk at the sandy shores of Yeongildae Beach, the representative urban beach of Pohang. Walking along the well-paved coastal promenade lets you enjoy the cool ocean breeze and the sound of waves right next to the city.

* **Highlight:** The wide open view of Yeongilman Bay and the soft sandy shoreline stretching for about 1.7 km.

#### **2. Yeongilgyo Bridge (영일교)**

As you walk towards the eastern end of the beach, you will find Yeongilgyo, a beautiful pedestrian bridge spanning across the sea. Walking over this bridge makes you feel as if you are walking right on top of the ocean.

* **Highlight:** It is beautifully illuminated at night, creating a romantic atmosphere perfect for photos.

#### **3. Yeongildae Pavilion (영일대 전망대)**

Cross the bridge to reach Yeongildae, Korea’s first traditional pavilion built on the sea. Head up to the second floor of the pavilion to capture a panoramic, unobstructed view of the entire bay.

* **Highlight:** This is the ultimate photo zone. From here, you can see the contrast between the traditional architecture, the deep blue sea, and the industrial landscape of POSCO across the water.

#### **4. Yeongildae Rose Garden (영일대 장미원)**

After stepping back onto the mainland from the pavilion, you will pass by the nearby coastal rose garden. Depending on the season, thousands of colorful roses bloom right next to the sea, offering a unique blend of ocean views and floral scents.

#### **5. Ending Point: POSCO Nightview Walkway**

Finish your stroll by continuing along the seaside path to look across the bay towards the POSCO factory complex. While an industrial site by day, it transforms into a massive, colorful light art installation by night, reflecting beautifully on the water's surface.

### **💡 Tips for Your Walk:**

* **Best Time to Visit:** **Late afternoon to evening.** Starting your walk right before sunset allows you to catch the golden hour over the bay, followed by the brilliant night lights of the pavilion and POSCO.

* **Convenience:** The promenade is completely flat and very easy to walk. There are plenty of ocean-view cafes and seafood restaurants lining the street right across from the beach if you need a break.
